He sits inside the body of a wonderful Victorian c. late 1800’s travelling inkwell, which is metal and distressed leather. To the top, a little copper leaf is sprouting (c.1900 French jewellery finding). The inside of the lid contains a sweet snippet of wool embroidered miniature leaves, with the word “twit” sculpted from wire there too. The same vintage 1930’s embroidered leaves are to the inside of the inkwell lid, which flips down . Little Twit himself is a rare 1930’s painted lead toy owl figure. He peers out from his little inkwell hole, which is lined in vintage green velvet ribbon. The whole sculpture stands on two tiny black wooden legs, which were originally antique shirt collar studs, from circa 1900. It stands at 8cm tall, and, when open, approximately 10cm wide.
