“Courage Dear Heart” …… this lovely little brush sculpture features an incredibly sweet antique Victorian miniature bone and natural bristle brush (probably originally a gentleman’s moustache brush). It has been reimagined in to a hedge from an equine cross country course, complete with miniscule fencing made from vintage pins and flags from tin fragments. The horse and rider are circa 1920’s and are cold painted metal. The banner flying above them is sculpted from a vintage tin fragment, and has the words “Courage Dear Heart” stamped in to it (quote is from C.S. Lewis). It is supported by a Victorian glass topped hat pin from the late 1800’s. All of this sits upon a vintage 1930’s Capstan tin, which has had tiny turned wood, yellow painted bun feet added to it’s base. These came from a 1950’s abacus. The whole sculpture measures approx 12.5cm tall and has a diameter of 7cm.
